McCandless & Thoreau #4

"Unlike the most of us, he was the sort of person who insisted on living out his beliefs."

  1. McCandless' definition of living a good life was being able to live out one's beliefs. As mentioned quite a many times in the novel, he believes that he should be able to do everything the way that he feels like he should do them, and get bothered by no one. In other words, He wanted to live freely. Thoreau also had the same beliefs as McCandless. Thoreau also did not want to be bothered by the people who should not be bothering him, and telling him what to do, and "care" for him. Thoreau, like McCandless, lived up to be himself.
